I had only one day to decide.
Should I stay or should I go?
Staying in Istanbul until the extreme conditions we are all in normalize or entering Bali before the borders were closed.
I decided to stay despite my craving for my home and cuddles with my cats.
I had one thing on my mind as a reference; making both options equally interesting; the potentiality of interiorization and self-care. After passing through the initial anxiety of the unknown I got truly excited about the value of this period because…
Now I can take time for a deeper self-practice
Great time to resume my yoga practice on Vishudda chakra; the centre of purity and wisdom. Work on vishudda introduces a certain isolation from external influences to keep one`s inner and outer world as pure as possible. What better time to do a yoga program during a crisis which requires semi- quarantine conditions and extreme cleanliness…?
Is there something that you always wanted to practice and had all kinds of excuses not to?
How would you like to even do a meditation practice with a long mantra for protection against the virus?
Now I can work on my online projects
I have been procrastinating for a long time around my upcoming Yoga Therapy Pill online yoga program offering accessible and effective yogic techniques for a variety of needs from physical to spiritual; enhancing the mind-body connection. `Life` happened somehow. Now life is inviting me to take action.
Now I can enjoy some stillness
Though I love my work, my friends and all the social interactions I have the privilege to enjoy it is a bliss to stay interiorised in stillness.
Having said all these there are some alluring habits that may bring heaviness, dullness to this process. I need to be mindful about:
Over-indulging in any direction; binge-watching series or enjoying the delicacies here that I miss so much when in the eat pray love vibes of Bali.
Keeping the energy flowing; making sure that I start every day with a simple energizing yoga program making my body move, my breath flowing and immune system balanced.
Maintaining a mental and emotional hygiene; avoiding excessive communication around the pandemic and letting go about any fearful thoughts around events in future that I cannot control.
Perfect time to be in the now and doing something good NOW.
If you would like to receive a long mantra for meditation for your own or your beloved one’s wellbeing and protection from the virus write `mantra` to contact@dijan.co.
`Hi Dijan. Lovely to hear from you! I developed a better morning routine - short meditation and yoga. Also, more conscious about how I am feeling. Especially after feeling great/looking great after the retreat, that became a benchmark :)`
`Yes things are much better ... firstly after our retreat my energies are so positive .. I got a job and everyone says I am so positive!!`
`I learn that quick morning yoga is better than 1-hour massage. `
I recently got in touched with my clients in 2019 to check in how they are doing and these above are how some responded.
Also, my personal retreat to be at the receiving end again, learn new things and shuffle my `insides` around a little bit to break some destructive patterns was another validation.
We all need to take a step back from everything, attend to ourselves with whatever guidance we see fit.
Why?
Because as Einstein said; `we cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them. ` Taking some time apart from our daily affairs and problems; going inwards for a little self-inquiry may be exactly what you need to have a fresh perspective.
Because we need to create a new baseline for your body, mind and soul. Well-guided yoga and meditation practices have proven effects on our nervous system and overall balance of our being assisting the self-healing mechanism of our body. This gives us a more positive and healthier outlook to life.
Because if we want a change our life, we need to start doing things differently. Move when we feel like chilling; act when we feel like hiding; dance when we feel like caving! I am not saying not to listen to our needs but when we are stuck in patterns our authentic voice is usually hidden behind our urge for instant gratification. We rather do what makes us feel comfortable than what makes us move ahead and evolve.
If you have the possibility, better to move away from your home for a little while. If not, I just suggest to get some guidance to design a retreat program for yourself and have your own private one at home.
You are welcome to join me if you would like to experience a yoga retreat in Bali or have an online consult to design your own. Always happy to help and share what works.
